Every two weeks, we release improvements to our systems and highlight what is new for you. The latest changes were deployed over the weekend. You don't need to do anything to see these updates in CommunityCore. To take advantage of the new feature in InspectorConnect 3.0, please make sure you have the latest version of the app installed.
TL;DR (“Too Long; Didn’t Read”)
With these CommunityCore updates, now you can:
- Choose to allow the system to send a plan comment or plan approval letter automatically after a submittal is delivered
- Quickly see unassigned reviews with the new Unassigned Reviews tab on the Submittals screen
- See the date the plan review was received on the Plan Review screen
- Choose to have email notifications sent automatically to applicants when a permit is entered by a permit tech, then accepted or denied
And now, in InspectorConnect, you can:
- Quickly text the site contact when en route to the inspection
- Select your favorite navigation app to use with InspectorConnect. We added support for Waze and Google Maps.

Automatically send plan comment or plan approval letters
To save a step when completing and delivering a plan review, your jurisdiction can now choose to have an email containing the plan comment or plan approval letter automatically sent to permit or project contacts when a submittal is delivered. If you would like this option enabled for your jurisidcition, please complete this short form.
New email notification option to applicants
Now you can choose to have an applicant automatically notified via email when an application has been entered by a permit tech, then accepted or denied. If you would like this option enabled for your jurisdiction, please fill out this quick form. Thank you!
New columns on Submittals Screen and Plan Review screen
On the Submittals screen: Unassigned Reviews
On the Plan Review screen, new column option: Received Date

Send an 'on-the-way' text
For building inspections
With this update in InspectorConnect, when you touch the message icon on a task screen or resulting screen, you can send a text to the site contact to let them know that you are on the way to the inspection stop.
🗺 And please note...
When sending an on-the-way text message to a site contact, the message will come from your iPhone or iPad, not from InspectorConnect. This means the site contact will have your number and will be able to text or call you back.
Navigation app - your choice
For building inspections and code enforcement
Now you can choose to use another navigation app installed on your phone with InspectorConnect. With this update, we added support for Waze and Google Maps. You can stick with Apple Maps if you would like too!
