Article Summary

Every two weeks, we release improvements to our systems and highlight what is new for you. The latest changes were deployed over the weekend. You don't need to do anything to see these updates in CommunityCore.

TL;DR (“Too Long; Didn’t Read”)

With these updates in CommunityCore, now you can:

  • Quickly jump to the search page with a keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + F
  • Save changes on a page or in a form with Ctrl + s
  • When you open a page with form fields, your cursor will be in the first field, ready for you to type

Search...faster

Now, with this new keyboard shortcut, from any page in CommunityCore, you can quickly navigate to the search page with your keyboard. The keyboard shortcut to get you there is Ctrl + shift + F:

Quick save

Internally, the CommunityCore Solutions team is cheering about this one. We know it will help you too. When it takes so much energy to find the Save or OK buttons with your mouse in CommunityCore (we've been there 😛), now you can quickly save a form entry with ctrl + s:

Here is an example of how you could use ctrl + s when entering a permit application:

Ready to type

With this update, on any page or form in CommunityCore with text fields, your cursor will automatically be focused on the first text field on the page so you can start typing right away. With no mousing.
